The 5th Annual Jarret Stoll Celebrity Golf Classic scored big at Moonlake Golf and Country Club, raising $213,500 for sick kids at Royal University Hospital.
In just four years, the golf classic has raised more than $500,000 for the care and comfort of our youngest patients and their families.
Jarret, who wears #28 with the LA Kings, grew up playing hockey in Melville and Yorkton.
Funds raised by the golf classic are invested in the Jarret Stoll Patient Comfort Fund Endowment for Children at Royal University Hospital.
This past year, funds earned by the endomwnet purchased:
o Twin beds for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) which allow parents to stay overnight near their babies;
o LCD/DVD combo used to teach parents about various ways to care for their babies when they go home from NICU;
o Children’s music boxes, children’s movies and a TV/DVD combo for Nuclear Medicine;
o Pediatric resuscitation cart for Emergency;
o Living space at the Alvin Buckwold Children Development Centre, where families of children with special needs can relax, prepare meals and entertain their children during long days at the clinic;
o Special chair for children with feeding disorders in Speech Language Pathology.
Every year, Jarret invites his hockey pals to join him in Saskatoon. This year's celebrity line up included: Drew Doughty, Scott Hartnell, Luke Schenn, Brayden Schenn, Teddy Purcell, Nigel Dawes, Wayne Simmonds, Sheldon Brookbank, Fernando Pisani, Nick Schultz and Brad Meier.
