The Dr. Ali Rajput Endowment for Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders supports vital research into effective treatments and possibly, one day, a cure for this debilitating disease.
The Endowment was created in 2008 with $1 million donated by an anonymous resident of Saskatchewan. Your contribution to this endowment will ensure the continuation of this leading-edge research in our province.
Dr. Ali Rajput created the Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders Clinic at Royal University Hospital, where he has amassed an amazing research tool – more than 400 brains donated by his patients with Parkinson's disease. Researchers from around the world travel to Saskatoon to work with this brain tissue. The secrets locked within these human brains may one day unlock the mystery of this incurable disease.

Saskatoon lawyer Henry Kloppenburg represents the anonymous donor. "Dr. Rajput has done world-class research on a Saskatchewan budget. The donor wants to support that kind of research because we have to reconcile ourselves to the fact that we will never receive funding on the scale of a Toronto research centre or a Vancouver research centre."
The Endowment was also welcomed by Phyllis Fox, mother of actor Michael J. Fox, who was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease at the age of 30. "It's a horrible disease," she said while visiting Saskatoon. "(The Endowment) is going to grow and get better and hopefully others will follow this example."
Dr. Rajput's work continues under the directorship of his son, Dr. Alex Rajput.
